Hobbies…they are a fun way to spend your free time and to meet new people, but it can’t always be easy to find one. So here is my list of hobbies that you should definitely try.
From painting, to drawing, to carving, you can choose whatever you want. Art is the best form of expressing ourselves, but also of relaxing the mind.
It is always a great idea to draw or paint, even if, at first, you won’t be the best at it. With time, you will absolutely fall in love with it and find it more and more interesting and fun.
Since I was little, I used to draw all kinds of crazy stuff. I wasn’t good at it at all. I just found peace in putting my silly thoughts on paper. As I progressively grew fond of it, I became more and more talented.
Now, I participate in international contests with my work and have exhibitions once every 3 months. It is still a hobby of mine, since I do all this outside school, but it just happened to grow into a really big thing.

It is not simple when you start, since it is a new and complicated domain, but once you get the hang of it, it can become one of the best things in the world.
Whilst playing an instrument or singing, you can make covers for your favourite songs or even write your own piece.
Music is an incredible way of occupying our time, that wakes all your senses. It is a known fact that people who play an instrument have better concentration skills, as well as a better memory.
And for those of you who want to become singers, you will feel more comfortable in front of an audience, since you will perform in public, conquering the most common fear, the fear of stage.
I know, I know, knitting is for old people, but it can actually be fun.
For one, knitting is an interesting way to create pieces of clothing or cozy stuff, such as pillows, blankets, etc.
When knitting, you develop your patience, but also your carefulness. While doing it, you use different kinds of knots to create a certain pattern, making you more focused to not mess up.
By being focused for a certain period of time, you actually train your brain, making it more easy for you to acknowledge certain things in the day to day life that you didn’t before.
From poems, to short stories, to long novels, you can write anything you want.
Writing is a way of escaping our day to day lives into a world created only by us, completely to our likings. It is also great when you feel overwhelmed with all kinds of emotions that you can’t relieve yourself from, because once you start writing you actually express those feelings, even though no one is really listening.
By writing, you, yes, develop your vocabulary, but also discover and analyse different point of views on your problems and on life in general, making you more calm and productive.
Photography is really fun and simple. You jut get your camera and start taking photos.
It is a great way to explore the world and to pay attention to everything that happens around you.
It is also really fun to photoshop your photos and to experiment with the different kinds of fonts and colours.
Once you get more comfortable with it you can get to the next level and buy yourself a professional camera and take even better and more artistic photos.
This hobby is a great way to be as creative as you want, capturing all kinds of stuff that normally would look strange together and to have fun discovering the world that surrounds you.
I used to cook for pleasure and it was a great way to relax and escape from my daily problems.
I mostly cooked desserts and every time I was in the kitchen I would feel so comfortable and peaceful.
Most importantly, I felt great at the end when I got to taste my dish. Once you taste something that you spent hours doing and that you put all your efforts in, you feel very accomplished and get this rush of energy that swipes up all your negative thoughts. It is really an extraordinary feeling!
I know, I know, I know, hiking demands a lot of effort, but it really feels great once you’re outdoors and moving.
Hiking is a great way to relax your mind with the sounds of nature, but also to revive your body.
Once you get moving in a space filled with trees, plants and, most importantly, fresh air, your body regenerates itself and you feel much more openminded and energized.
While hiking, you not only you work out, but you also free your mind from your stressful day, making you feel more seren and accomplished.
Dance is one of my favourite hobbies and I still practice it, absolutely loving it.
Dancing is a great way to express yourself with the help of music and, obviously, dance moves. It is one of the best hobbies, since it develops all your senses, taking your coordination and memory to the next level.
While dancing I feel free from all stress, I feel like I can conquer the world, I feel like I am one with the music and that nothing and no one can stop me.
It is a great feeling when you are moving yourself on the rhythm and I recommend it to everybody, because it is, truly, the best thing in the world.
All in all, having a hobby is a necessity and now you actually have a list from which to choose from, so don’t try to make an excuse for staying in bed all day:)))
